SPECIAL CARE UNIT

The Special Care Unit provides a secure and home-like environment for residents with Alzheimer disease and other dementias.

The Special Care Unit offers:

• Staff trained in Behavioural Management
• A small number of residents; the unit accommodates 21 residents
• A secure environment with keyed elevator access
• Coded exit doors
• A wander guard system
• Recreational programming to meet the special needs of each resident
• A large space safe for wandering behaviours
