The CCAC is an excellent source for information for those trying to understand all the pros and cons of Long Term Care facilities, Retirement Homes, or Community Nursing.
The Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA)
This is the professional association for Long Term Care facilities in Ontario.
The Ontario Resident Care Association (ORCA).
This is the association that accredits Retirement Homes, not Nursing Homes, within Ontario.
The Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA)
This is the body that performs the accreditations for Nursing Homes and other health care facilities.
Toronto's Department of Public Health
This department sets and enforces municipal health standards.
The Government of Ontario's Ministry of Health and Long Term Care
The Ministry sets and enforces provincial health standards.
The Government of Canada's Division of Aging and Seniors
A very worthwhile site, with lots of information.
Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
RNAO is the professional association representing registered nurses in Ontario.
The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
The CNO is the governing body for registered nurses (RNs) and registered practical nurses (RPNs) in Ontario.

has articles and a "Look it Up" section for finding other information. There is considerable input from Harvard Medical School. Again, be prepared for small print.
